(As recounted in the Gospels)

If the seven step process and the Lampstand of God's Purpose of which we are speaking are to have any credibility at all, it would seem that Jesus Himself might lend some support. Not surprisingly, His entire public ministry here on earth made a very strong statement to that end. From His baptism to his ascension, it is evident.

1. INITIATES: God Himself establishes Jesus' authority right from the start, saying, "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased," as John baptized Him.

2. SEPARATES: Immediately Jesus is led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil for forty days and forty nights.

3. SEED/WORD: When tempted by the devil, the response of Jesus is to stand on the Word. Each time he responds with " It is written."

4. EARLY HARVEST: In spite of all of his miracles, profound teaching and wisdom, His ministry appears to have been for naught with His death on the cross.

5. AWAKENS: The tomb is empty! He has risen from the dead. Not only He, but many other saints also.

6. REDEEMS: By His death on the cross, he has redeemed us all. All we have to do is accept the price that Jesus paid. With his own blood He has purchased our salvation.

7. GOD RESTS: Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father, having completed the work for which he was sent. Jesus' finished work on the cross needs nothing to be added by man. All we mere mortals can bring to the table is just our own inadequacies and a genuine appreciation of God's great mercy and grace. And his wonderful gift of salvation.
