Paul's wonderful epistles comprise a very large portion of the New Testament. Amazingly, the tone and much of the content of the longer letters at the beginning of his writings, also match that same seven-step pattern we have observed in the other examples. Just as in those previous situations, God is gradually drawing us closer to Himself, culminating in the very good news Paul delivers in his message to the Thessalonians.

1. INITIATES: The Book of Romans outlines the assignment that God has given Paul. He is to take the Gospel to the Gentiles, the Jews being temporarily blinded.

2. SEPARATES: In 1st and 2nd Corinthians, Paul does not hold back anything. His readers are set apart, receiving in their sanctification every gift and promise they needed.

3. SEED/WORD: Paul confronts the Galatians who had gone after a different Gospel. He also contrasts the true Gospel with the Law. "Gospel" appears nine times early on in the epistle, "Law" appears twenty-six times.

4. EARLY HARVEST: In the Ephesians letter, two important words are suddenly dominant. They are "Grace" and "Church", woven throughout the fabric of life in the Body.

5. AWAKENS: Philippians is all about the importance of Christ being proclaimed "in pretence or in truth" and the need to rejoice in His being highly exalted.

6. REDEEMS: Colossians is all about completing, redeeming, reconciling, all things and all fullness. (Read all of Chapter 1 and most of Chapter 2 for the full impact.)

7. GOD RESTS: The messages to the Thessalonians recount the wonderful outcomes for those who believe in God's ultimate purposes in the Day of His Coming. From the start of Paul's ministry to the end of it, the pattern of the Lampstand has continued to ring true. It will very likely span the entire "Times of the Gentiles, until they be fulfilled". Come Lord Jesus.
